New football season 2017/2018

Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Young - not a defender among them
The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly coloured, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride."

Trouble for Newcastle is they don't do well against the teams around them. That said, cracking game and result

A very happy Max this morning, it always feels extra-special to beat the lesser United.

What we have to do is make this a turning point and keep adding that extra 10% to turn good performances into maximum points on a regular basis.

I'll be honest though, after all the recent examination of her financial credentials, it doesn't look as though the Staveley is in any way solid and Ashley isn't desperate to get sell the club for less than he thinks it's worth.

Where that leaves us as supporters and Benitez as manager, whether we're relegated or not, is anybody's guess but, without the sale, probably not in a good place.

Mention for a good cup win for Killie over Hearts. Next up, Aberdeen away which will be tough.

As I'm now a proper Killie supporter (although still a match virgin), I understand that Ayr getting beaten 6-1 at home is a joyful result, even if we don't much care for Rangers.

Oh, I see what I did - I read the results across instead of up and down.

Brora Rangers though - it's like beating Barcelona! (see, I do know about Scottish fitba)

I knew they won though...and the Ayr result...and who they've got in the next round...be gentle with the newbie...

Well beaten by Liverpool but no way humiliated. Shelvey would have made a difference but almost certainly not enough.

Southampton is tricky and we could really do with a result.

Interesting that Mitrovic is scoring at Fulham although, unlike at Newcastle, the team is set up to give him the service he needs in terms of crosses.

I trust everyone noted another win for Killie on Wednesday - 2-0 against St. Johnston, up to 5th in the table, and Steve Clarke Manager of the Month.

Yes, he scored 2 against us the other night. Fulham look very tasty at the minute. Blades fans were saying they were the best team that have played us all season.

I am beginning to think our season is over for anything spectacular, really struggling for goals at the moment. Sharp not back to his best and Clarke out. Biggest missing man is Coutts after he had his leg broken earlier on in the season. We stopped looking dangerous then.

Saying that, I started the season only eying up 4th from bottom. We've had a cracking return to the Championship, Wednesday are struggling and the teams above us with exception of Derby all look like Premier League sides

Yes, I was going to mention the Blades. It might be better to get some confidence this season and make the big move next.

We started to get ideas above our station and dreaming of going up. I am grateful we hit the ground running, because in this league of tough opposition it is easy to get bogged down, see Sunderland and for most of the season Boro (although look at them now)

6 pointer this weekend, Ipswich away. On current form I am glad they are at home, they are struggling there this season and only getting 13k. McCarthey not very popular at the moment.

Wolves
Cardiff or Fulham
Fulham or Cardiff
Villa
Boro
Us/Preston/Bristol City/Millwall or brentford

That last p/o position very hotly contested at the moment

Killie nearly let Ross County back in but the Toon score three and keep a clean sheet.

Yes, beat the blue Satan away.

Thankfully we weren’t to dispirited by going out against Aberdeen on penalties.
